We are here, finally!  South Africa, i have missed you so much! :)

After a very stressful & busy Christmas period in our shop we are delighted to relax a little bit…

We decided to go to Capetown this year. <3

6 Years ago i did a voluntary project here, I stayed here for 3 months back then.
The project was all about keeping kids of the street and we did this by giving them surfing lessons! (But more about that later on our blog!)

I’m quiet delighted to be here again now. Really, a piece of my heart belongs to Capetown.

This time we are staying in this wonderfull Airbnb located in Tamboerskloof, near Kloofstreet. One of my favorite shopping streets in CT!

Our last day of the Gardenroute was spend in Jeffreys bay, we started our day with a breakfast at 100% Jbay Bru, the best part of this place is that it had a big inside playground.

Afterwards we drove to Port Elizabeth for our flight back to Capetown.

The view on table mountain was just stunning!

On wednesday we arrived at our second Gardenroute stop; Plettenberg Bay.
We decided to stay in this area for 3 nights because there are a lot of things in this area that we want(ed) to visit.

On our first day here we decided to visit the elephant park, Beau loves elephants and has been talking about going to see them since we told her we were coming to South-Africa. The elephant park specializes in rescuing abandoned elephants & elephant orphans. When the elephant is feeling secure again the animal goes back to an ‘open’ area.

This healthy way of park-visiting attracted us and we liked it very much, we have pet the elephants and gave them their lunch. It really was an extraordinary experience.

Afterwards we drove around in Knysna and visited the Knysna ‘Heads’ - view point. On our way back we went to the Plettenberg beach. During the evening we went to ‘Tsala three lodge restaurant’. The ideal location to thank our mom for all the things she has done for us in the past year. <3

Six years ago I did a voluntary project in Muizenberg. The project - giving surfing lessons to children from the nearby township Capricorn- has evolved to … (1) a pizza restaurant called Ovenbaked which supports (so when you buy a pizza the money goes to…) (2) the Surf Outreach Project.

It was so nice for me to see the evolution of this project & to meet my best friend who made this project to what it has become today again!

If you ever know somebody who wants to do a voluntary job, definitely refer them to this project. I wouldn’t have said this 6 years ago but today the project is exactly where it has to be. And it could use all kinds of help!

During our day in Muizenberg we first had breakfast at @empirecafe later we went surfing on the beach.
